Slacklining refers to the act of walking or balancing along a suspended length of flat webbing that is tensioned between two anchors. What makes slacklining so popular is the simplicity of it – all you need to practice is a few components, and it can be done anywhere.

Walking is a relatively simple thing, but when we are put on a slackline, that is when all the little details become to matter and all our skills have to be used. To be completely aware of our bodies and know how to use it in the best possible way is not as easy as it sounds. „What is important and needed for slacklining is harmonizing the mind and the body and that is why slacklining teaches us a lot of interesting and useful skills we can use in our everyday life, a.ka. the few hours of the day when we are not slacklining“ – says Miha Škof, the founder of Balansa, a team of slackliners organizing the slackline workshops at the Festival.

Balansa was founded with the goal of popularizing, sharing and learning about the slackline culture or, in other words, the culture of movement which is directly connected to mental training and leads to a more creative, healthier and better life.
