Join us for the tandem kayak competition and enjoy the beautiful views of the island of Ugljan and the nearby islet of Galevac, around which there is a competition route of 2 laps (about 2,700 m).
For the competition, we have prepared sit-on-top kayaks that are unsinkable, stable and easy to use. Before the start of the competition, we will make a short introduction about kayaking and the scoring rules of the competition.
The race starts from the land, from where the competing couple tries to run into the sea with a kayak as quickly as possible and start rowing. The finish line will be set in the shallows. Each participant registers for the race independently. If you do not have your own rowing partner, the organizer will assign you one. Mixed pairs (women and men) take part in the race.
No previous experience with rowing? Don't worry - you will master this marine discipline very quickly, and everyone who wants to prepare for Sunday's competition can practice the day before, on Saturday, September 23, at a free kayaking workshop.
Tandem KAYAK race starts on Sunday, 24.09.2023. at 11:30 h from beach Jaz, Preko village, island Ugljan.
If you have applied for a race independently the organizer will assign you a partner in kayak.
Clothing and equipment of competitors:
• Swimsuits and/or shorts andT-shirts
• Old sneakers, neoprene slippers or barefoot
Refreshment is provided for all participants (water, tea, fruit).
All competitors must be minimum 14 years of age.
Competitors under the age of 18 are only allowed to participate with the written approval of an adult who is responsible for the underaged competitor.
Start packages can be picked up at INFO POINT in Preko.
Our INFO POINT will be open for you at main location as follows:
Saturday, 23.09. from 8:00 to 18:00 h by main post office, na Mulu 18, 23273 Preko, Ugljan island.
Sunday, 24.09. from 08:00 to 11:00 h in the beach Jaz, 23273 Preko, Ugljan island.
A personal document is required in order to take over the starting number and the starting package. It is possible for another person to take over the starting package, but only by presenting a competitor's personal document. It is impossible to take over the starting packages outside of THE INFO POINT opening hours.
The contents of the starting package: Start number, ZOF T-shirt, bag for storing personal belongings in the wardrobe, beverage bottle, sponsor gifts.
All competitors get a start number. The start number for all races must be visible throughout the entire race, and must be worn on the front side of the shirt of the competitors. The competitors' passing is registered at START and at the FINISH. The results of the race will be released immediately upon completion of the race on the organizer's website.
Wardrobe
The wardrobe for storing personal belongings for the duration of the race is ensured in the immediate vicinity of the start and will be delivered at the finish. Storage is possible only in the bag which is part of the starting package, and pick up only upon presenting the starting number. The wardrobe is open from 08:00.For unclaimed items in due time, it is necessary to contact the organizer's representative at following contact number + 385 98 220 970.
Medals and prizes are insured for first 3 places (mixed category).
By paying the registration fee, the competitor confirms that he accepts the rules and the application is considered valid.
In case of no show of failure to enter the competition, the paid money is not refunded.
